In The Zone Baseball & Softball Academy is proud to congratulate our most recent college commit.  Jared Miller, who has been a part of the “ITZ Family” for quite some time, and we couldn’t be prouder of his accomplishments both academically, and athletically.

Jared is a 2018 student-athlete at Lenape Valley High School and has committed to Centenary University where he will be continuing his baseball career and studying Social Media Marketing. A right-handed pitcher, Jared has been a mainstay not only in ITZ’s pitching rotation for many season’s, but on the bump for Lenape Valley High School as well. He’s one of those players that you establish instant rapport with, who exudes respect for his teammates and coaches.  A genuinely “nice kid”

His journey hasn’t been smooth as Jared suffered a serious ankle injury last winter that nearly prevented him from playing in his senior season at Lenape Valley. Due to his commitment to rehab and training, he’s been able to overcome that obstacle and play his final season of Varsity baseball.  But he’s not out of the woods yet. Jared has a spine issue requiring surgery, which will happen shortly after his High School season finishes. While tough circumstances to deal with for anyone, it’s a great example of Jared’s passion and commitment to the sport and why Centenary will be lucky to have him a part of their roster this September.

Each player’s journey is unique and it takes an incredible amount of work, time and patience to achieve the goal of playing at the next level. There needs to be a consistent support system in place including the family, coaches, recruiting liaisons, and teachers. Players should be prepared to invest a considerable amount of time into the process, but knowing that the results from those efforts are well worth it. If you are a player looking for guidance, with aspirations to play at the next level, In The Zone Baseball & Softball Academy is here to help.

Once again, congratulations Jared!
