Flanders, NJ (June 1, 2021) – In The Zone Baseball & Softball Academy has announced the addition of David Yorke as Director Of Operations and Recruiting.

Upon graduation from college Yorke received playing opportunities with multiple major league teams including an extended tryout with the S.F. Giants. After the conclusion of his playing career he coached at several institutions including Drew University, Seton Hall, CCNY and NYU. Along with being an assistant and head baseball coach, he served as an Assistant Athletic Director, Recruiting Coordinator and NCAA Compliance Coordinator. Since he left coaching Dave has been a Senior Advisor and Head Baseball Consultant with a college recruiting and placement firm as well as a scout and instructor for several MLB franchises.

“Dave is joining us at a great time,” said In the Zone’s President Marcus Ippolito. “Serving the needs of our players continues to be first & foremost and bringing someone of his caliber & experience is a testament to that. He’s helped over 1000 players get to the next level and his network, contacts and broad reach will be a perfect compliment to the proprietary player development and showcase system we have built. In addition, he will be taking on the role of Director of Operations which, as we continue to grow, will be instrumental for us to achieve our goals.”

As part of the hiring, In The Zone will also be merging with the Yorke Baseball facility which David has operated since 2018, located in Lacey Twp, NJ. The facility is home to the Jersey Shore WAVE club baseball teams as well as a popular destination for local baseball and softball players for private instruction, rentals, camps and clinics.

“I am excited for the opportunity that Marcus and In The Zone has offered me and I think we will provide families the best of both worlds in training and travel teams. In The Zone’s 19 years of experience in the industry provides the stability and staying power that families should look for to bring their kids from t ball to college baseball. My family and I are happy to be a part of that process. Also, the opportunities that In The Zone provides to the Wave families is priceless, they will be a part of a program that can now provide improved technology and reach that we couldn’t give them in the past.” said Yorke

“We’re honored to make the WAVE teams and that great facility a part of the ITZ family. They’ve built a strong foundation down there under Dave’s leadership and our goal is to leverage our resources, experience, coaching staff and more to help strengthen the operation even more and expand in all areas of the business. It’s going to be great,” continued Ippolito.
