What is RAPSODO and why is it important?
Rapsodo is a leading technology which analyzes hitting & pitching in both baseball and softball.
With the Rapsodo Hitting Unit and Rapsodo Cloud you receive instant feedback on exit velocity, launch angle, direction, spin axis and more. Any cage becomes a field with 3D ball flight and landing location. Players can design the optimal swing in a single session with video playback for hitting mechanics insight and instant data feedback
With the Rapsodo Pitching Unit and Rapsodo Cloud, you receive instant data on pitch velocity, spin rate, true spin rate, spin axis, and spin efficiency as well as strike zone analysis, horizontal and vertical break, 3D trajectory, and release information. See any pitch from side, top, pitcher or catcher views, and track progress over time with historical and statistical analysis.
Rapsodo is currently in use in the MLB, MiLB as well as many leading college programs. Accurate metrics are a major part of the recruiting process for college coaches and scouts. What this means to players is not only do they have to be capturing their metrics, they need to be tracking them over time to improve them. As more and more metrics are captured from players of all ages and levels, baselines are forming which means that coaches can look at a players metrics and quickly determine if they are the type of student-athlete they would recruit for their program.
In The Zone Baseball & Softball Academy instructors use the Rapsodo technology to not only capture key hitting and pitching metrics but work closely with student-athletes to make critical adjustments. The key to using Rapsodo is understanding how to interpret the data and then apply the changes necessary for advancement.
